A Gentle Reminder: You Don’t Have to Carry It All

A Gentle Reminder: You Don’t Have to Carry It All

There was a time in my life when I felt completely drained. I was overwhelmed and lost sight of myself. I was tired, and I couldn’t remember the last time I did something gentle just for me.

Maybe you’ve felt that way, too.

Life has a way of piling up. We give so much of ourselves to others... to family, work, friends, responsibilities... that there’s often nothing left for our own hearts. We keep going, even when we’re running on empty.

I remember God reminded me to cast my cares on Him.

I realized I wasn’t meant to carry everything alone. The weight I’d been holding wasn’t mine to bear.

Self-care, I’ve learned, isn’t selfish. It’s allowing myself to pause. To breathe. To remember that I’m loved and seen, even when life feels overwhelming.

Sometimes, self-care looks like a few moments of silence, a whispered prayer, or choosing rest instead of pushing through exhaustion. Sometimes it’s as simple as drinking water, taking a walk, or speaking kindly to yourself.

It doesn’t have to be big or expensive. It’s in the small choices that we remember who we are and who holds us.

So today, if you’re feeling tired or stretched thin, I want to remind you: You don’t have to carry it all. God is waiting to help you.

Take a deep breath. Exhale the heaviness. Let Him carry what you can’t.

With love,

Lareesa
